Project Consultant, Excel by Eight

La Shawn Grimes is a Project Consultant at Excel by Eight. She has three adult children and one granddog. She has more than 10 years in the education field, ranging from teaching in an early childhood setting to teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to adult international students at Arkansas Tech University. In addition, La Shawn has worked in the community sector for five years, most recently serving as a Community Engagement Director at United Way of Central Arkansas where she managed several programs while assisting with other projects. She gained her early community service experience at The Boys and Girls Club of the Arkansas River Valley, beginning as Youth Program Specialist and later as Unit Director in Dardanelle.

La Shawn looks forward to using her project management and leadership skills to accomplish priority goals within Conway County. She is most excited about being part of a team that implements programs to bring about the best outcomes for the success of children and their families.
