Our E8 community in Union County is coming together through Excel by Eight’s Data Walk Road Show to turn data into action for young children and families.

Since May, the road show has traveled throughout the county, with stops in El Dorado, Strong, and Parkers Chapel with another stop planned in Smackover. These data walks spark conversations about local needs and opportunities for children from before birth through age 8 and for their families.

In October, the road show stopped at the El Dorado City Council meeting, where city directors and community members explored local data on children and families, including working households who keep the community moving forward while navigating financial challenges. We also participated in the community STEM night at Murmil Education Center in El Dorado.

Thank you to our E8 partners in Union County for helping build awareness around the importance of giving every child a strong start in life. Special thanks to Jill Weinischke, our local partner from the SHARE Foundation and an El Dorado City Council member, and El Dorado Mayor Paul Choate for hosting us at the City Council meeting. We’d also like to thank Kasey Porchia, Director of Alternative Education at Murmil Education Center, for including us in her vision and planning for a successful STEM and resource-connecting event for families.

We’re grateful for the continued commitment to children and families across Union County!
